    Managing Power Dynamics and Power Balancing In the Workplace

     

             

    Overview: 

    The workplace is full of power dynamics. How people use or maybe misuse their sources of power are the (not so) hidden forces that influence working relationships, workplace culture and organizational performance. We will explore ways to empower and balance power as well as provide tools and language to use so that power can be leveraged and balanced in meaningful and respectful ways.

    Biography:

    Carol Bowser. Former employment attorney, coach (for those who need improve their communication, conflict resolution, and leadership muscles as well as those who want to expand their leadership tool kit), workplace mediator and group facilitator, speaker, and coffee lover.

                                                            

    Program Information:

    This program is designed for the Human Resource Professional as well as for managers and supervisors. Suitable for public as well as private workplaces. The presentation will be interactive and provide opportunities for questions, self-reflections, and action planning. Tools and techniques will be provided to aid individuals to recognize and manage the productive and non-productive uses of the various types of power that are present in the workplace.

    • Recognize the various sources of power present in working relationships
    • Learn techniques to manage power plays that can contribute to burnout, disengagement, and possible liability
    • Explore methods to balance "empowerment" and "accountability"
