    Working out of the Natural Resources Building in Olympia, the Human Resources Director will work with executive leaders to help manage complex HR issues, anticipate the future, and influence service delivery as a strategic partner. This position is an active member of the agency leadership team that sets direction for the Department in all business areas. Reporting to the WDFW Deputy Director, the HR Director is responsible for the leadership and oversight of agency-wide HR functions in a division of 20 professional staff, 9 of which are direct reports. The next HR Director will be actively involved in workforce development and diversity and inclusion aspects of the updated strategic plan, serving as an organizational culture changer helping to promote the value of WDFW to all people living and visiting in the State.

    The Washington State Ferries (WSF), a part of the Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT), is seeking a senior level HR professional to manage the WSF Labor Relations program.

    Reporting to the WSF Deputy HR Director, this position is a very valued member of the HR staff. WSF has more than 1,800 employees throughout the Puget Sound region on vessels, in terminals, at the Eagle Harbor Maintenance Facility and at the headquarters facility in Seattle.  In this role, you will be responsible for providing consultative services and proactive guidance to Ferries management regarding labor relations along with challenges and needs within a broad range of sensitive human resources functions including, disciplinary actions, labor relations/employee relations, recruitment and classification and compensation and risk mitigation. Our ideal candidate will possess the aptitude for leading with excellence while developing and implementing strategic initiatives to maintain and enhance the WSF Labor Relations program.
