    Senior Office Assistant 

    Thurston County’s Human Resources Department is seeking a full-time Senior Office Assistant who is responsible, motivated, willing to work in the office setting, and enjoys providing service to customers.  
    Typical responsibilities:
    This position is the office receptionist and provides customer service as well as administrative support to a variety of HR programs.  Duties include but are not limited to:  
    • Customer service support for the Human Resource Department – Greet, assist, and explain procedures and regulations to our patrons and County personnel; attend to phones, voicemail, emails, and walk in customers. 
    • General Office Work – Review forms for completeness; process, track and code invoices; scan files; records management (both electronic and paper); records archival; maintain and order supplies; filing; process and distribute mail; maintain and organize accurate records/files; act as back up to HR Assistant and others; and schedule printer maintenance.
    • Program support – Provides support to the Training and Risk programs, including monitoring emails; tracking statistical data; maintaining data management system; tracking building emergency assignments; room reservations; scanning documents; tracking and pulling data and developing reports from systems and/or paper files; assisting employees with system access; sending new employees informational packets. 
    • Assistance to HR management – Compose, edit, proofread, format, and coordinate complex documents; collect data or conduct research; organize and maintain information on intranet.
    Compensation: $3,637.00 - $4,837.00 Monthly

    Human Resource Consultant 4 

    At the Department of Commerce (Commerce), we are creative, collaborative, and trusted. We are small but mighty with approximately 400 team members.

    This role is the primary HR Consultant for assigned Divisions within Commerce.  The professional in this role will provide expert level HR consultation to executive management, managing directors, supervisors and employees in the areas of labor and employee relations, corrective and disciplinary action, organizational best practices, classification, compensation, recruitment and selection, diversity, equity and inclusion, leave, and other personnel administration.

    The person in this role assures customer service excellence and timely completion of duties and assignments that meet or exceed customer expectations. This role is designated as the subject matter expert and HR Consultant lead for internal agency personnel investigations. In addition to conducting personnel investigations, this position will establish investigation processes and templates and provide consultation and training on conducting investigations to HR staff and agency supervisors and managers.

    Compensation: $4,974.00 - $6,534.00 Monthly

    HR Generalist - Corporate Office (Olympia, WA)

    • Manages the health, dental, and other benefits programs holistically including assisting employees with enrollment and changes, reconciles benefit enrollments across systems/departments, manages billing, manages HSA accounts, and any additional associated benefits tasks
    • Processes necessary documents to initiate and manage COBRA
    • Works closely with benefits broker, carriers, and vendors as needed
    • Spearheads Open Enrollment annually 
    • Maintains organizational personnel files


    • A PHR or SHRM-CP certification is preferred
    • Deadline proficient and detail-oriented with a high level of organizational skills
    • Ability to communicate effectively, both written and verbal, with a diverse audience
    • Ability to manage and coordinate competing events and projects
    • Ability to problem-solve, resolve conflict, and make decisions with sound reasoning, good judgment, and critical thinking skills
    • Self-motivated with the ability to time manage tasks and work with little direct supervision
    • Capability to work in a fast-paced environment and perform a variety of tasks
