Overview: 

Everyday businesses experience moments of financial instability due to unforeseen circumstances, there are programs to support you and your team. Come learn about how and when you may leverage these programs to retain your employees and navigate resources to support your company and employees.

Biography:

Cheryl oversees the SharedWork and Job Search Review programs with Employment Security Department, State of Washington. Cheryl’s motto is “Invest in yourself for your professional and personal growth..”

Donna Mack is the Rapid Response Manager with the WA State Employment Security Dept. In that role she collaborates with the Local Workforce Development areas across Washington to respond to business closures and layoffs, support layoff aversion and upskilling efforts, and award additional assistance funds when needed.

Christina Chesnut is the Director of Workforce Development, with WorkSource and the Thurston Chamber leads a team to support businesses in recruitment, training, and retention services and federal investments available to offset those costs.

Program Information:

When the economy experiences turbulence, natural disasters happen, or your company has made the difficult decision to close its doors. Do you know what you need to do next? During this session you will learn about the different forms of partial, short-term, long-term, and permanent closure resources available to your business. How do you access them? And what are resources available for your employees during this time of transition? We look forward to having a conversation about available resources available and answering questions that you have around staff retention during periods of financial instability. We are here to help your business during times of transition!
