    A Fresh Look at HR Basics

    The "flip side” of “The Great Resignation” is that many of us are accepting new HR Roles or starting at new companies. This event is designed to give you some helpful audit tips and basics to review when assessing your environment, as well as things to keep in mind when dealing with the human factor. Even if you are not in a new company, this will provide tips and resources for the new year ahead!

    Biography:

    Lisa Maxim Biscay is an international award-winning HR Professional. She holds the IAWP International Individual Citation award that is shared with both JFK and Harry S. Truman, being the only private sector individual to have this prestigious honor. She has a Master of Science degree in Human Resources and has consulted for Pew Charitable Trusts and the U.S. Department of Labor both in Washington, DC, for the National Employment Law Project in New York City, the University of Oregon as well as several private industry boards, where’s she’s served as both a member and past President. She has testified in front of the Oregon Senate Ways and Means committee, has the been interviewed by the U.S Department of Labor, USA Today, the Oregon Employment Department and the Oregon Legislature for her expertise. Lisa is an Army veteran with one daughter, two dog meat trade survivors and is happily married to her high school sweetheart. She volunteers at Meals on Wheels and is the current Elite Ms. Washington Petite state titleholder. She lives in Olympia, Washington, where she works at the Washington State Legislature.

    Teresa Hogan is a professional with 35+ years of experience guiding organizations through periods of dynamic organizational and cultural change, from start-ups to acquisitions and closures. She has experience in strategic organizational planning, labor negotiation, performance management, benefit and compensation plan design, training and development, risk management and safety, using these skills to develop and implement initiatives to meet business objectives at such global companies as ESCO, Columbia Steel and divisions of Panasonic, Sikorsky and Nissan. Teresa has a BS in Industrial/Organizational Psychology, and achieved SPHR certification in 2001 and SHRM-SCP certification in 2018. She is a Lominger certified 360 Feedback Coach. She has testified on behalf of the State of Oregon Employment Division at the National Employment Law Project Conference in Washington DC, and served as VP of the Oregon Employers Counsel (PDX Chapter), as well as a board member of the SW Washington High Tech Consortium, C-Tran Employer Transportation Board and the Vancouver Association for the Arts. She is currently resides in Longview, Washington, where she is the Human Resources Director for Jammies Environmental, Inc., which provides environmental services to major industries and railroads.

    This seminar is a refresher for those that have been in HR for a long time and those on autopilot, looking for auditing ideas as well as those needing Human Resources basics from personnel files to listening and establishing feedback paths.
