to create leaders who are more powerful in their role, better collaborators and more expansive thinkers, regardless of their title within the organization.

How do you effectively “manage up” and influence key decision makers, strategic partners and even your own manager?  Does the idea of managing up make you uncomfortable, seem impossible or feel like a conflict just waiting to happen?  Most professionals rely on attempting to convince others by proving to them how great their ideas and recommendations are, which rarely creates true partnership, buy-in or long-term results.  The power of enrollment, which combines the neuroscience of the brain with specific conversational tools, lies in its ability to get what you want and maintain (or deepen) relationships.  Adding the skill of enrollment to your professional toolbox will give you the competitive edge by giving you the ability to get your ideas heard, implemented and affect long-term change within your organization.

Objective:  Learning to influence others and manage up are critical skills for HR professionals who are looking to bring their ideas, innovations and change to their organization while maintaining positive relationships.  Participants in this session will learn how to avoid the common mistake of attempting to convince others and, instead, use simple techniques to influence by creating genuine buy-in through enrollment.

    Participants will:

    • Learn the important difference between convincing and enrolling

    • Understand the brain chemistry behind enrollment

    • Learn how to shift a conversation from convincing to enrollment

    • Leave with a simple 3-step enrollment process to apply to any conversation
