This program will cover the ins and outs of potential background screening programs, selecting the right screening program and vendor for your organization, as well as attempt to clear  up any confusion regarding the legal facets surrounding a background screening program.

Participants will:

• How to successfully comply with the Fair Credit Reporting Act, on a Federal and local level.  
• Best practices to avoid negligent hiring lawsuits, including key components of a background screening report that will mitigate risk most effectively. 
• The difference sources criminal history information truly comes from. 
• Key questions to ask when searching for a new background screening vendor. “Screening your screening vendor.”  
• Additional services and technology your screening vendor may offer, that you were unaware of, again learning how to find out about these services and if they pertain to your organization.  
• Any new additions to previous legal ordinances that may affect your organization, including “Ban the Box.”
