This presentation will focus on strategies for identifying and developing organizational leaders. Using a framework that identifies critical ‘pivots’ in thinking along the pathway from line-staff through supervisor, manager, and executive, we will discuss strategies that organizations can use to build their leadership ‘bench strength’. Specific topics will include:

    •         different types of succession planning,
    •         the relationship between leadership traits and management roles,
    •         how to identify high-potential employees, and
    •         strategies for developing ‘high-potentials’ employees for the next rung on the leadership ladder.
