    Come and learn successful strategies to teach Managers and Supervisors how to manage employees while they are on protected leave.  This program contains some of the materials from the Protect Leave Management series originally presented in 2014 by Lonnie Spikes Jr., SHRM-SCP, SPHR.

    The learning objectives:

    • Teaching Managers how to effectively manage employee leave
      • Specific Strategies/Best Practices for management
      • Identifying Management Rights
      • Strategies for Managers to use when leave is managed poorly
      • What Works-Real life examples and discussion on successful strategies
    • Leave in protected status
      • Identify the circumstances of a protected leave event and the next steps
      • Provide clarity on supervisor and employee roles and responsibilities
      • We will discuss scenarios on intermittent leave and other complex FMLA and protected leaves. 
      • Letter templates for different FMLA leave circumstances will be available for attendees.
