2019 SHRM Olympia Board of Directors -

    President - Sue Ann Richards, SPHR, SHRM-SCP

    Sue is a Workforce Performance and Data Analyst for the Office of Financial Management.  She has worked for the State of Washington since 2004 in varying roles including recruitment, human resource technology, performance management, data analysis, diversity outreach, and classification. Sue graduated from Washington State University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Administration and in Education.

    Incoming President and VP of Technology – Danielle Wood

    Danielle is the Risk Coordinator for Express Employment offices in Aberdeen, Centralia, and Olympia. She partners with Express clients as a consultant to help maintain and develop safety programs as well as coordinating the training of internal staff. Danielle works with injured workers to get them back to work after an injury while managing claim costs. In previous roles, Danielle has experience in account management, payroll, inside sales and all aspects of recruiting. She has been with Express Employment since 2016.

    Past President and VP of Communications – Nichole Seick, PHR, SHRM-CP

    Nichole attended Western Washington University where she participated in the student chapter of SHRM and ultimately earned a Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management. Although Nichole currently works at the Office of Financial Management (OFM) as an Employee Performance & HR Development Coordinator, she has also worked in various departments including, the Department of Social and Health Services, Department of Information Services, Department of Transportation, and Attorney General’s Office. Nichole earned a MBA in Business Administration from St. Martin's University and holds both her PHR and SHRM-CP.

    Government Affairs – Wayne Jones, MSHRM, PHR, SHRM-CP

    Wayne previously served SHRM Olympia as Director of Workforce Readiness, Director of Government Affairs, and 2014/2016 Chapter President. Wayne is employed with Thurston County as a Human Resources Analyst and Civil Service Assistant Chief Examiner. He previously worked for the Washington State Employment Security Department as a Local Veterans’ Employment Representative and Business Consultant, helping Veterans find high-paying and meaningful employment while assisting businesses in their recruitment, assessment, training, and selection processes. Wayne is a US Army Retiree with extensive background in human resources management, organizational development, EEO/Affirmative Action, and training development and delivery. He became a HRCI-certified Professional in Human Resources in 2011 and a SHRM Certified Professional in 2015. He holds a Master of Science degree in Human Resources Management and Graduate Certificates in Organizational Leadership and Human Resources Management.

    VP of Programs - Cheryl Knight, PHR, SHRM-CP

    Cheryl works for the Board of Industrial Insurance Appeals (BIIA) in the Administrative Services Division. Cheryl currently works within the BIIA to coordinate training for safety, support staff, and diversity. She received her certification in 2008.

    VP of Programs - Stephen Griffith

    Stephen joined Express Employment Professionals in 2017. He works in customer service and loves learning about others and helping them reach their goals. He has a wide HR background and is currently continuing his education. Stephen enjoys hiking, biking, exploring, and going on Disney trips with his 14 year old son.

    Treasurer - Jasmine Malan, SPHR, SHRM-SCP

    Jasmine is currently a Human Resource Consultant for the Washington State Office of the Attorney General. She focuses on supervising an amazing team, HR analytics, and policy. She has worked for the State of Washington since 2005, starting out at Washington State Parks and Recreation. Jasmine graduated from the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Rhetoric. She received her SPHR certification in January 2010.

    VP of Membership - Rebecca Ayers, SPHR, SHRM-SCP

    Rebecca has been the HR Manager for Braun Northwest, Inc., in Chehalis since 2008.  Prior to that, Rebecca worked in Washington State Government for 23 years in several different capacities. Rebecca earned her BA from Western  and her MS from Chapman University, and has been a member of SHRM since 2002 when she earned her SPHR, and more recently, her SHRM-SCP certification.

    VP of Workforce Readiness - Jose Dominguez, MPA, SPHR, SHRM-SCP

    Jose has over 20 years of public service in human resources, recruitment, career services in higher education and state agencies. He was the former Student Employment Director at The Evergreen State College, Career Center Director at South Puget Sound Community College, and Recruitment Administrator for Washington State Dept. of Social and Health Services. More recently he was a Senior Human Resource Analyst and Recruiter for King County Transit and is now recruiting for MultiCare Health System. He has a Master’s in Public Administration and SPHR and SHRM-SCP certified. A U.S. Army veteran who understands the civilian job search challenges of transitioning military, veterans and family members. 

    VP of Diversity and SHRM Foundation - Kelly Blevins, SHRM-SCP

    Kelly is a Human Resource Consultant for the Department of Corrections HQ in the Statewide Operations and Classification Unit. She also provides HR Consulting for VATA Commercial Truck Driving School. She has been committed to public service in Washington State for 29 years. Her first career was at the Grays Harbor 911 Center where she held several positions over the years, including Acting Deputy Director/1-man HR, Training Program Oversight Supervisor, 911 Shift Supervisor, Emergency Medical Program and QA oversight, and 911 dispatcher. She previously worked for the Elma Police Department and the City of McCleary Ambulance crew. She has a Bachelor of Science in Business/HR Management and a Master of Science in Management and Leadership, both from Western Governor's University. She is SHRM-SCP and CompTia Project Management certified. She had been a volunteer member of the Grays Harbor Critical Incident Stress Management/Debriefing team for 22 years. She is dedicated to uplifting the HR profession.

    Secretary -  Samantha Jenkins

    Samantha Jenkins is a Staffing Coordinator at Express Employment Professionals. She works to help find great people jobs and companies great employees. She has a Master’s Degree in Business Leadership from South University.

    VP Conference Planning and VP of Membership - Jerame Johnson, PHR

    Jerame has served in the US Army for nearly 19 years, and nine as a Human Resources Officer.  He currently serves as the Chief of HR Plans and Operations in the 7th Infantry Division.  Previous positions include a HR combat trainer at the National Training Center on Fort Irwin, CA; SR HR Director, Medical Operations Officer, and Battery Commander for the 31st Air Defense Artillery Brigade from Fort Sill, OK and while deployed in the Middle East; and HR Director for the 16th Sustainment Brigade in Bamberg, Germany.  Additionally, he currently serves on the Advisory Council for Soldiers’ Angels and plans to retire from the Army in April of 2020.  He holds a Master of Arts degree in Human Resource Management from Webster University, a Bachelor of Science degree in Aeronautics from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, a PHR, and an Executive Negotiation and Conflict Resolution certificate from Notre Dame.  He has been awarded the Colonel Robert Manning Achievement Medal in US Army Human Resources Management and the Benjamin Harrison Medal for Human Resources Accomplishment in Leadership and Academics.
